As of 1st April 2024, a minimum of 48 hours notice needs to be given to cancel or reschedule an appointment, otherwise, a cancellation fee is charged. This fee is 100% of the appointment fee.
The cancellation fees are in accordance with the guidelines of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
Practice staff will send you a SMS appointment reminder 72 hours before your appointment and you must reply with your intention to confirm or cancel your appointment. Follow up messages will also be sent 24-48 hours if no response is given. If you do not respond it is under the assumption that you are ‘ATTENDING’.
Please note that cancellation fees paid cannot be claimed through private health insurance ‘Extras’ cover, or Medicare, and you will incur the cost of cancellation fees. Further appointments will not be made until these fees are paid.
If funded by NDIS:
“Where a provider has a Short Notice Cancellation (or no show), they are able to claim 100% of the agreed fee associated with the activity from the participant’s plan, subject to the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits and the terms of the service agreement with the participant.
A cancellation is a short notice cancellation if the participant:
- Does not show up for a scheduled support within a reasonable time, or is not present at the agreed place and within a reasonable time when the provider is travelling to deliver the support; or
- Has given less than seven (7) clear days’ notice for a support.”
Pre-payment of full appointment fee – If you have a history of more than two consecutive non-attendances without notifying us, or do not want to fill out your card details on our registration form, you are required to pay the full fee 24 hours prior to the appointment, or it cannot go ahead.
